HES 2026 highlights role of science, tech, and innovation in achieving the SDGs

Government leaders, universities, and research institutions gathered at the Higher Education Summit (HES) 2026 on March 10 to 11 in Clark, Pampanga to strengthen the role of science, technology, and innovation in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event featured the STI4SDGs initiative, partnership signings, and workshops on integrating the SDGs into higher education. An SDG Convergence Exhibit also showcased technologies from DOST agencies supporting sustainable development.

DOST develops Theory of Change for STI4SDGs

Taguig City, Philippines | 6 February 2026 — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) conducted the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Workshop Series under the Accelerating Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals for the Philippines (STI4SDGs) Project, with its first workshop focusing on Building the Theory of Change, held at the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Auditorium, DOST South Complex.

STISDGs showcases science for sustainability at Inno.Venta 2025

STI SDGs or Accelerating Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals for the Philippines participated as an exhibitor during the Inno.Venta 2025: Transforming Discoveries to Economic Impact held on October 23-24 at the Batangas State University – The National Engineering University.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through the Office of Assistant Secretary for Technology Transfer, Communications, and Commercialization, is taking bold steps to align science, technology, and innovation (STI) initiatives with the country’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the Validation Workshop on Project-Relevant and Priority SDGs held in Tagaytay City.
